Morocco People

Evening at the Marrakech bazaar and I was sneaking long telephoto shots of passers by, and noticed this hawker at a booth a bit down from where I was sitting. He had this lovely, pensive, accepting look at the end of a long hard day.

We were walking through the backstreets of Tinerhir, Morocco, when we came across a group of kids playing in a courtyard. I offered them some change to pose. I stood them a few feet from the wall to keep it out of focus. This girl's intensity and clothes were perfect. This is one of my favorite photos.

Generally, people in Morocco were very unhappy having their picture taken. At the Marrakesh night market, it was relatively easy to stand back with a telephoto lens and not be obvious. Generally I don't like to take people's pictures if they don't want me to, and there is a good chance that they would see me taking the picture. This picture was so tempting, that I broke that rule. As you can see, he was not happy, but it is a great picture.
